 It used to be so easy not to put on weight. I used to be able to eat anything I wanted.Things have not stayed that way. Now I have to be a bit more careful about those seconds or thirds or fourths or (etc, etc., etc.) There must be an easy way to control my appetite, right?

Kinda makes you wonder about the whole “Apple a day” thing, eh?

Today my twenty-one year old son tells me he doesn’t get my cartoon which was published on Tuesday. He shows me the cartoon and I ask him if has ever heard of the song to which the cartoon is referring. He hasn’t. Man, am I getting old or just out of touch… or both?

Birds do it. Bees do it. Even educated fleas do it…But what about tomatoes?

Jeepers…How deep can it get?!

Let’s face it, this gag wouldn’t have worked at all if I had switched (the name) to Geico.

It has been said that holding a grudge only hurts the person holding the grudge. That’s why I say it’s best to let someone else hold it for you. You’ll feel so much better!

A friend of mine has worked for a very BIG corporation for years. Up until very recently he had his own office. Then the BIG corporation had a new building constructed and everybody had to relocate to cubicles…Including my friend. They do not like working in cubicles. I am glad I do not work for a BIG corporation.

Sometimes a pun is too good to pass up. As you might imagine I, like many of you, receive tons of spam. Many of these ads are promoting “E.D.” products. I guess you could say that this is the one time junk email actually inspired me. I know it’s a dreadful pun, but sometimes I just can’t help myself.

We’re all familiar with the seven dwarves, but how many of you knew about an eighth, somewhat less than politically correct fairy tale character?

Ah, Sunday morning! Anyone in the mood for some scrambled eggs?

In response to my post of 2-12-09: Ol James requested a large beef patty… By any chance would a slightly smaller one suffice?

I am all for doing my part for the environment.  When I take my dog for his daily walks I’ll pick up any litter along the way. What really irritates me is the chewing gum I “find” along my route. Would it really be so hard for someone to at least wrap it up in a scrap of paper before spitting it out the car window? Being the problem solving kind of guy I am I believe I have a solution to the problem that has not been proposed before…

Thursday is the last day of the World Ag Expo. It’s been fun but I do miss the sun. (Weather here has been cloudy/rainy and chilly…at least by California standards!) I could use a bit more sun…but not too much. I burn easily.

Seems that while I’m away at the World Ag Expo my family is overseeing the house training of the new pooch. (Some people have all the fun!) It was my job to train our big dog and fortunately for me he was a quick study…practically self-taught!

What a day! I won’t bore you with the details, but I’m exhausted.  Anybody else out there ever feel like this?

We are now the proud owners of a darling, little Aussie Sheppard/Border Collie mix. Lotta energy in that little thing! The “king” of the house, (and whose office I reside most of the time when doing the cartoon thing), is our eight year old Akita mix. He has a wonderful disposition and is very tolerant of the new kid in town. When the big guy was a pup I taught him how to “gently” take a biscuit from mouth. Sure hope the “trick-training” goes a bit easier this time around…

Okay, so how do I know I’m getting older? (Besides the gray hair, that is!) At least once a day I walk into another room for some reason or another and when I get there I forget why I went in the first place. Getting older sure isn’t for those who are chicken…

Sometimes I enjoy playing a little game…”How many puns  can I work into a single cartoon.” This one isn’t the most puns I have ever squeezed in, but it’s my favorite...

Recently while staying at a nice hotel I was awakened in the wee hours by some upstairs “neighbors” who were having much too good a time.  I’m all for people having a good time, as long as it doesn’t interfere with my sleep. This pretty much sums up my attitude on the subject…
