Just lately my youngest son has expressed interest in becoming a doctor. I am not sure how or why this happened as up until now he has always expressed a deep interest in the performing arts. Last year he won best actor (of the year!) as a freshman in high school and his band has being getting paying gigs, between all the breakups that is. I say, why can’t he be both a performer and a doctor? How many times have you heard an actor portraying a medical professional in a commercial say, “I‘m not a doctor, but I play one on T.V.”? Well, if my son were a doctor just think how much more credibility that would have? In fact, to make a (here comes a shameless plug) point, I had him portray a doctor, and using my last blog entry as the script, do a commercial for my 2011 Rubes Zoo in a Box Daily Desk Calendar. (I told you it was a shameless plug so don’t act so surprised!) I’m telling you, the kid’s pretty darn convincing. He better be. I’m going to have to sell a whole lot of calendars to put him through medical school...
