Bringing down the house
May 29, 2010
Did you ever have a song you just couldn’t get out of your head?... Me too. It could be an old song I haven’t heard for years or it could just be a catchy advertising jingle that has been playing incessantly on the T.V. or radio. Either way it’s enough to drive the people that I live with (wife) crazy probably because I will inevitably start to hum it (or worse, sing it) while going about my daily routine. I suspect one family member (wife) finds this particularly irritating. The reason I have come to this conclusion is that for no apparent reason (other than me repeatedly humming/singing) the door to that family member’s (wife) office will unexpectedly close (SLAM!) even though there is no one else in the house other than me and the dogs. My humming /singing doesn’t seem to bother them. (I think). Speaking of songs I can’t get out of my head, just last night my son and his friends performed the classic 60’s rock song “Sunshine of Your Love” by Cream at their high school’s spectacular year end production , “Best of the Beat.”(For a rockin’ time see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOzTgkKcnnA ). Man, those kids really brought the house down much like a certain family member (wife) will bring our house down if the door to that family member’s office slams any harder.
