The gravity of the situation

Loosely stated, Newton’s first law of motion says that an object at rest will remain at rest unless acted upon by an outside force and an object in motion will remain in motion unless it too is acted upon by an outside force. According to legend, with a bit of help from a wayward piece of fruit, he also discovered the law of gravity. It’s a good thing he wasn’t sitting under a coconut tree. If that were the case he’d have received quite a bump on that brainy noggin of his which would have required a trip to the emergency room. I’m sure that would have cost him a shilling or two! Yep, Ol’ Isaac was a pretty smart fella, but I’ll be even he would be thoroughly confused by this country’s current health care mess. Then again, maybe he was on to something. After all, you know what they say, “An apple a day...”
