It's Raining, It's Pouring
Mar 20, 2011
Okay, it’s been pouring rain for the last couple of days and as much as I don’t mind it I am not fond of bundling up twice a day to take my dog for his morning and evening mile and a half constitutionals. The problem is he won’t let me off the hook. Oh, I can pretend that his intent canine stare isn’t boring a hole in the back of my head. I can pretend to not understand why he softly and continuously whines at precisely the same times every day, heck, I can even pretend to be napping (like I do in order to avoid doing “honey-do’s”...that only works with my wife.) But all that pretending only delays the inevitable. He knows that I know that he knows that I know. In a way he is the ultimate negotiator. I have my position (no walk today-too wet) and he has his position (buck up, pal, a little water isn’t going to kill you). He doesn’t budge an inch on his position. He just keeps staring and whining until I just can’t take it anymore. He knows l’ll eventually give in. Yep, the dog has quite a system. I just hope my wife doesn’t figure it out.
