The Greatest Love of all Time
May 21, 2011
So last year my wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary. (How she has been able to put up with me for that long is truly remarkable, but that is another story). In honor of the occasion I wrote a poem expressing just how I felt about us. The reaction was not exactly what I expected. She teared up. Thankfully it was in a good way. (I didn’t think the poem was that bad!) She loved it. (Whew!) Later she shared the poem at our summer family gathering and my brother Paull (yes, it is spelled with two “L’s”) liked it so much he said he’d like to put the poem to music and put it on his next album. Now unlike myself who lacks the musical gene my brother is a very talented professional musician so I knew the poem for my wife would be in good hands. He assembled a team of top notch pros (including a Grammy winner!) and I must say I could not be more pleased with the results. The poem really lent itself to country music and that is exactly how he recorded it. I’ll skip some of the details but the song, The Greatest Love of All Time, premiered (World Premiere Song) just before Valentine’s Day (great timing!) on country station Y-102 in The Dalles,(like “Paull" also spelled with two “L’s”) Oregon. I am also happy to hear it in regular rotation on www.brooklynheightsradio.com. Rodger Nichols, the program director at Y-102 gave the song a wonderful introduction which even included a fanfare and jet fly-by! It would be my pleasure to share with you The Greatest Love of All Time. Wanna hear it?...Then just click here: World Premiere Song ...and yes, you may even purchase and download it as a single or heck, the entire album, titled “Proof” at: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/paullerubinpelikanesis.
Happy listening!
