1940 The General
Aug 18, 2011
Cover tractor for Fastline Nebraska Edition.
Tractor of the month owned and restored by Wayne Vermeline, Malmo, Neb., pictured with his son Leon and grandson Austin.
The General is the only model made by the General Mfg. Co. in Cleveland, Ohio. When World War II started, manufacturing of this tractor was discontinued. Following WWII, the company was sold to Avery Mfg. Wayne’s son, Leon, found this tractor in Wyoming on a hunting trip 18 to 20 years ago. Leon purchased it and brought it back to Nebraska for Wayne. Wayne Vermeline then restored it to its like-new condition.
