Farmall F-20 Narrow-Tread High-Clear
Sep 22, 2012
The Farmall tractor combined the ability to plow with the ability to cultivate and the machine’s spindly look and high ground clearance were a radical departure when it was introduced. Refined with guidance from IHC engineer Bert Benjamin, the machine helped convince a generation of farmers that a horse could be replaced with machines.
This F-20 is a high-clearance machine designed to work tall crops. The tractor’s height was increased with a high-arch wide-tread front axle with different steering knuckles and drag links. The wheels are larger as well. This particular F-20 is also a narrow tread version, with the wheels pulled in closer together. The owner traded a prized 1206 row crop for the rare F-20.
