Great little red white and blue mini berry pies.  We posted these originally as an idea for the 4th of July but they would work great for Memorial Day too!

Classic Midwestern Coffee Cake

May 06, 2014

This is a Classic Midwestern Coffee Cake that is certainly worth making once a year. Great for Mother’s Day! Share it with your family or take it to the office. This recipe calls for pecan chips (pecans chopped very fine) which you can omit if you prefer without nuts.

Great to see the sunshine yesterday in our corner of the country!  It had been a dismal week of rain.  Temps were chilly over the weekend so we picked up a turkey at $1.59 per pound and roasted it up using the method described in this post – How To Roast A Perfect Turkey then smothered the meat in BBQ sauce.  Pretty affordable when comparing other prices. A couple rainy days are in the forecast with cool temps again so planning ahead for Pulled Pork with Boys Beans.  Maybe you will want to give these recipes a try too.

We have a new giveaway coming soon so stay tuned.  We are wishing for rain for those who need it and sunshine for the rest!  Stay safe out there!  Our best,  - Kristina
