Canning Tomato Soup

If you are still trying to use up the last hurrah of tomatoes in your garden you might enjoy Grandma’s Canned Tomato Soup. Now – for the diehard grocery store tomato soup fans, well this has a very different flavor and feel as this includes celery and onion. This is a great soup to serve in the dead of winter with grilled cheese. This is one for the grown ups in the house so jazz that grilled cheese up by using a chewy Ciabatta or hearty Farmhouse white bread with a Gruyere, Cheddar, Fontina, Havarti or a mixture of those cheeses in the middle. To serve the soup I like to make mine creamy by stirring in a little half and half or milk, whatever I have on hand. Jenny and I got together to put up several jars of Grandma's Canned Tomato Soup so we could share some photos of this classic along with the recipe. We hope you enjoy!
