Headed For Michigan

Headed for Michigan!

We're loading up the RAM and heading for Michigan this weekend. I'll have my favorite hunting partners with me -- Emily and Tom. And when we get there, we'll meet up with Mike Oelschlager, the winner of the hunt give-away we did last year. And Justin Moore will join us Monday, along with Jeremy Stover. They wrote the theme song for the show together and Justin performs it. Justin is on tour right now and is playing between Josh Kelly and Miranda Lambert... and he's got a song moving up the charts -- If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away. We'll be hiding out in the shadows of a Michigan timber calling turkey. Man I can't wait!

And talking about turkey hunting. Remember the kids and I went to Illinois a couple weekends ago to participate in a special-needs youth hunt. Here's a picture of Seth with a target after practice. What a great kid... he was as upbeat and excited about being in the outdoors as any kid I've ever met. What a weekend... there's no way this weekend of turkey hunting in Michigan will be as satisfying as that Illinois hunt was, but we'll have plenty of fun.

Hey... I'll try to give some updates from the hunt on Twitter. You can follow how we're doing by following @ChipFlory. If we've got a strutter heading our way, don't expect many updates... but I'll try to keep you up to speed on how the hunt is going.

Tom and Emily are fired up about the trip. Tom is fired up for the hunt... but I think Emily is probably more fired up about the jam session on Monday night. Should be a blast!

Don't forget...

If you can't watch on RFD-TV every Thursday at 7:30 a.m. CT or Saturday at 10:30 a.m. CT, you can always watch the shows here on the web site.

And most importantly, keep on having fun outdoors on the farm!
