A cartoonish look at life...
I saw this headline in my paper last week:
“EXPERTS FEAR OIL SHORTAGE IS COMING”
Then right below it, no joke, came this headline:
“CUSTOMERS ARE BACK BUYING BIGGER VEHICLES”
Then just below that:
“SIZE STLL MATTERS TO DRIVERS”
...and below that:
“Automakers report May had the highest sales this year, but fuel efficient cars are stacking up.”
I can’t possibly be the only one who noticed the irony in these stories. Geesh. Gas is just about to hit 3 bucks a gallon again, still lower by far than this time last year, but does anybody really think it’ll stop there? I think not. If anyone tells you different you can be sure of one thing...It’s just a bunch of baloney.
Hot dog! Lotsa fun at: www.rubescartoons.com !
Leigh, For alomost a year now we have been searching for a quality sedan, not a tin can, that is solid on the road and has good crash and safety ratings with over 30 mileage and there are none made yet unless you want something only one or 2 small people can ride in. So for the money one might as well buy a SUV that is safe, roomy and costs hardly anymore and gets in the low 20's high 10's for mileage. Try and find a buick or lincoln or caddy, lexus or accura that makes sense. Some of the minivans get better mileage than the family cars.
Oh, Poop !!!! This was supposed to be humorous, or at least I thought so. I couldn't use a fish carburetor anyway, I don't live near a lake or river. Hee Hee, Ho Ho, Ha Ha !!!
There are patented carburation systems which get up to 75 mpg (dating from 1979 or earlier) one of which was sold to GM for less than $3 million--and which promptly disappeared. Read up on the Fish Carburator.
