The US auto industry won't fail, but they need a swift kick in the ass. It's hard to have sympathy for CEO's that come to DC in fancy corporate jets to beg for money. They also need to dump the legacy ball and chain. Just like Social Security, many retirees have outlived any chance the auto industry had of being able to their retirement. They just weren't supposed to live so long. That's a helluva thing to say, but it's true.
