“Red Hot” Auction Prices for Farm Equipment

February 15, 2012 05:25 PM

At the 47th National Farm Machinery Show, Implement & Tractor columnist Greg "Machinery Pete" Peterson gave his latest update on auction prices of used farm equipment.

According to Peterson there are three main drivers for the rising values: strong farm income, high prices of new farm equipment, and tighter availability of new and used equipment.

There are several examples of how the trend has carried over from the end of 2011 and carrying into 2012, including: a big jump in used planter values, a big jump in combine values and continued strength for used tractor values.
