Producers have tools available that can overcome the natural loss of fertilizers that occur in the soil.
Larry Sanders, president and CEO of SFP, says producers can increase fertilizer efficiency. "Producers want to maximize dollars spent on their fertility program. That means improving the efficiency of what is applied, and ensuring nutrients are not lost and remain available to the plant,” Sanders says.
There is also an environmental benefit. "If you can control the loss mechanism, that has a huge impact on things such as leaching, runoff and volatilization,” Sanders says.
Sanders is one of the featured speakers at this Year's Top Producer Seminar, being held this week in Chicago.
