Extra Power and Torque

Joining the JCB Fastrac 7000 Series is a new model, the 7270. The tractor is powered by a 6.7-liter Cummins engine for extra power and torque. Tractors in the 7000 Series feature all-round, self-leveling suspension for safe operation up to 43 mph between fields. The 7270 features an all-new chassis, which supports the advanced suspension setup, along with a larger-capacity rear axle and 20,000-lb. rear and optional 7,700-lb. front implement linkage systems. A four-range, six-speed powershift transmission gives the tractor a fingertip-controlled power shuttle, with 24 forward and nine reverse speeds. A touch-screen monitor allows different operating modes to be selected, or the operator can manually shift up and down gears with the seat-mounted joystick. The cab features an operator's seat with air-suspension. Price: $202,500. Contact: a JCB dealer or visit www.jcbna.com.

More Capacity, Less Maintenance

Designed for more cutting capacity, simple adjustment and low maintenance, the Kuhn GMD 3550 TL and GMD 4050 TL trailed disk mowers have working widths of 11'6" and 13', respectively. These mowers can cut at speeds as high as 10 mph to mow hay at a rate of up to 126 acres per day. The GMD TL models offer easy hook-and-go attachment that gets them in the field faster. The rugged Optidisc cutterbar with differential disk spacing ensures a clean cut, even in challenging conditions. This cutterbar also does not require routine lubrication and is maintenance-free. Protectadrive cutterbar protection provides reliability, and these mowers have improved suspension with greater adjustability. Contact: a Kuhn dealer or visit www.kuhnnorthamerica.com.

Bulk Handling Expansion

With a 19' model, Unverferth Manufacturing Company Inc., expands its bulk-handling product line. The 19' pull-type, tubular-style conveyor can move seed or grain at rates up to 34 bu. per minute. The conveyor features a cupped and cleated 12"-wide belt inside an 8" tube constructed of heavy-duty, 10-gauge powder-coated steel for optimum durability. The conveyor is available with an electric drive with a single- or three-phase option or an orbital hydraulic drive. Price: $5,670 with hydraulic drive. Adjustable Row Cleaner

Adding the ability to control row cleaner settings from the cab, Precision Planting Inc., introduces CleanSweep. The system uses a pneumatic cylinder to increase or decrease the force on row cleaners. Operators can observe conditions and row cleaner performance to make adjustments on-the-go. Models are currently available for the following row cleaners: Martin C125 MTS, MTS-XP and MTS-IH; Martin C125 MTR, MTR-XP and MTR-IH; and Yetter Titan 2967-035. Larger, 3½" treader wheels are available. Contact: a Precision Planting dealer or visit www.precisionplanting.com.
