Ingredients:
- 2 cups shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 4 cups flour, sifted
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. cream of tarter
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Cream together shortening, brown and white sugars. Add eggs. In separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, cream of tarter and salt. Add dry ingredients and vanilla to creamed mixture. Add walnuts/pecans. Roll dough into balls the size of walnuts and then roll in white sugar. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 375°F oven. Makes 4 to 5 dozen.
