Farmers and crop consultants have a new unmanned aerial vehicle option. The AutoCopter can collect multispectral data using the company’s patent-pending software to create variable-rate prescriptions and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) maps within minutes of the flight. The device can collect multispectral images, georeferenced DSLR images and high-definition video at the same time.
The AutoCopter has an aluminum airframe and can carry multiple cameras for a total flight time of about two hours without needing to refuel. Autopilot software with auto takeoff and landing features help users learn to fly on the first day of training.
