FARMnWIFE Gives Ag Women Tips to Tell Their Story

November 30, 2012
By: Julie (Douglas) Deering, Top Producer Managing Editor

Judi Graff, an Illinois farm wife, has combined her love of agriculture and communications through her blog - FARMnWIFE.com.

This blog helps men and women involved in agriculture understand how to use the technology available today to reach their customers and the public to explain what they are doing.

Graff, a speaker at Top Producer's Executive Women in Agriculture conference, explains that companies that blog generate 88% more leads each month. "You have to think like a reader," says Graff who farms corn, soybeans, wheat, hay and cattle with her husband. "Potential customers want to know who you are; include a personable photo of you or the team that makes it all happen."

She encourages attendees to get started on Wordpress. "It's free," Graff says. "There is no pressure and once you are satisfied with what you're doing you can upgrade."

Graff recommends all blogs and websites contain a tagline, about area, contact page, call to action and have a fast loading time.

During the session, Graff took the time to review attendees blogs and websites and provided them with helpful tips to improve their look, feel and traction with visitors.
