Kubota Corporation co-sponsored the grand opening of its new $73 million manufacturing facility at Kubota Industrial Equipment in Jefferson, Ga. on April 8. The 522,000-sq.-ft. plant has begun production of compact tractor models ranging from 30 hp to 50 hp including the Kubota L3200 and L3800.
"Georgia is proud to join with Kubota today in celebrating one of our state's greatest business success stories," says Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal. "Kubota's record of consistent growth has contributed to the quality of life for countless Georgia families as well as the overall health of our economy. This expansion will further help to make Georgia the No. 1 place in the country in which to do business."
The company has been operating in the state for about 40 years and employs more than 1,700 people there. Forty-three Georgia dealerships retail and market Kubota-branded products.
The new facility will employ hundreds of new workers and support production capacity of 22,000 units each year once it is fully operational.
Kubota products manufactured and assembled in Georgia include RTV utility vehicles, BX-Series subcompact tractors and implements and attachments such as loaders, backhoes and mower decks.

As seen in the embedded video, one of the first L3800 tractors off the line went to Jeremy Collins, a volunteer at Three Circles Foundation in Summerville, Ga. The nonprofit works with teenage boys from broken homes, with mentors teaching them agricultural skills and helping them perform community service. The giveaway happened as part of the 40 Years Strong Dream Contest marking the company’s 40 years in the U.S.
Meanwhile, the manufacturer announced several new senior leadership roles. Greg Embury is now senior vice president for marketing and dealer development. Todd Stucke is vice president for the agriculture and turf division.
