Better Residue Flow
For improved material flow through the machine, McFarlane introduces the 4100 Series Reel Disk. The vertical tillage seedbed conditioner features the patent-pending Durareel and works the top 2" to 3" of soil. The heavy-duty hub and spindle-style reel bearings have a three-piece seal design. The ultra-shallow 20" diameter disk blades are on 7" spacings, and the gang angle has four settings. The 4100 Series Reel Disk is available in eight sizes from 12' to 45' working widths. Price: $29,000 to $104,000. For more, visit www.flexharrow.com.
Planter Series Packs Capacity
The 9000 Series of White planters features the forward-fold, narrow transport, 12-row, 30" Model 9812. The planter’s three-section frame flexes 21° up or down at each wing and can fold to 12'. The planter carries 90 bu. of seed in the Central Fill System (CFS) or can be equipped with 2 bu. or 3 bu. individual row-mounted seed hoppers. A 300-gal. liquid fertilizer system is available in combination with the CFS seed hopper, or a larger 750-gal. liquid fertilizer tank is offered with the row-unit-mounted versions. The row unit and closing wheel assembly is a cast design with machined assembly points. The planter is available with ground-drive or variable-rate hydraulic drive seeding-rate control. Larger seed disk openers at 16" allow for a greater range of seed depth placement, from ¼" to 4½" and adjustable in ¼" increments. An in-frame positive air system supplies air to the seed meters, which improves air flow to better secure the seed in the cell until it is released into the tube. Options include a variety of closing wheel, tillage and fertilizer attachments; pneumatic row unit down-pressure system and flex shaft seed meter drive with ISO controlled electric clutches for individual row shut-off. Price range: $82,000 to $130,000. For more, visit www.white-planters.com.

High Density and High Speed
For denser bales faster, Krone introduces the BiG Pack 1290 HDP II, which can produce up to 100 3'x4'x8' alfalfa bales per hour. The second-generation baler increases bale density by 35% compared with the standard 3'x4' baler and 10% more than the company’s original 1290 HDP baler. The flywheel has been increased to 1,340 lb., and the intermediate gearbox speed has been increased to improve performance. The Active Pickup feature is standard, which includes an additional mechanical feed roller with changeable wear plates in the center. The baler’s cutting system has 26 blades and has been updated by enlarging the rotor by 30% for up to 20% more throughput. The variable filling system features three reinforced larger packer arms and a feeder arm, along with bigger ball bearings in the cam track. The eight double knotter design, each 50 millimeter in size, allows for higher bale density and better bale shape. The baler can hold 54 balls of twine. Price: $180,000.
