Manage Weeds 30 Days Ahead of Planting Corn

Palmer amaranth problems drive farmers’ control options and decisions in the South, Mid-South.

Extension weed specialist encourages farmers to implement their weed control strategies at least 30 days ahead of planting, in order to gain an early-season advantage over weeds.

In the following video, Steckel outlines control options in corn and how they can contribute to cleaner fields that then rotate into cotton or soybeans the following year.

Steckel adds that he expects to see more LibertyLink soybeans in Tennessee this year, and he offers some specific direction for farmers’ weed-control strategies in them as well.
