Corn harvest is rolling on across the Midwest. Currently, 39% of the U.S. crop has been harvested, according to USDA’s latest crop progress and condition ratings. The five-year average for this time of year is 13%.
States who have the most harvested are:
- Tennessee: 85%
- Missouri: 80%
- North Carolina: 76%
- Kentucky: 71%
- Texas: 69%
- Kansas: 54%
- Illinois: 54%
North Carolina and Texas are on a regular harvest pace, while the other leading states are 20 percentage points or more ahead of their respective five-year averages.
Soybean harvest is also moving along at a fast clip. Currently 22% of the crop is harvested, way ahead of the five-year average of 8%.
Louisiana, Mississippi and North Dakota all have 50% or more of their state’s crop out of the field.
Cotton harvest is on a regular pace. Ten percent of the crop is harvested, which aligns with the five-year average of 11%.
