Claas of America introduces its Lexion 700 Series combines, which stretch across Classes 6, 7, 8, 9 and even Class 10. At the core of these machines is the Accelerated Pre-Separation threshing system, and the rest of the combine is reengineered in response to customer requests.
Lexion 730 and 740 combines are powered by 8.8-liter Caterpillar C9 ACERT engines and have a power-folding grain tank with a capacity of 300 bu. Lexion 750 and 760 combines are powered by 12.5-liter Caterpillar C13 ACERT engines and have grain tank capacities of 330 bu. and
360 bu., respectively. The Class 10 Lexion 770 is powered by a 16-liter Mercedes engine. Its engine horsepower at rated speed is 523 hp and the maximum
engine horsepower is 563 hp. The grain tank capacity is 360 bu. Rounding out the lineup is the Lexion 670, a straw-walker model, with a 280-bu. grain tank and a Caterpillar C9 engine.
The grain unloading rate for the Lexion 730 and 740 is 2.8 bu. per second with a 3.3 bu. per second rate option. The rest of the lineup has a standard unloading rate of 3.3 bu. per second.
For easier grain return evaluation, the operator can look directly into the cross auger through the window in the lower right-hand rear corner of the cab. In
addition, the observation window at the back of the cab looking into the grain tank has been enlarged 50%. The newly installed grain sample outlet eliminates the need to fill the grain tank half full to take a quality sample.
For durability through long days in dusty fields, the Lexion 750, 760 and 770 use a clean-sweep system that automatically cleans the radiator in a continuous sweeping motion to remove debris. The Lexion 670, 730 and 740 feature automatic dust extractors to
continuously clean the hydraulic rotating radiator frame.
The Lexion 740, 750, 760 and 770 combines can be outfitted with the next generation of Terra Trac tracks. This
allows a top transport speed of 25 mph for the 750 model. The independently suspended drive wheel, idler wheel and bogie wheels increase operator comfort and machine stability on curves. On-demand hydraulics provide 50% faster hydraulic flow compared with previous series.
At the back of the machine, Lexion combines can be outfitted with three residue management options.
Inside the cab, operators will find that the 8.4" color CEBIS console is mounted with the seat so the two move together. Yield mapping and GPS, through a partnership with AutoFarm, are in a single unit. Sensors in the Lexion measure yield and grain moisture, while the
CEBIS or Ag Leader Integra display adds geographical coordinates. Field data can be managed using optional Ag Leader or Farm Works software. Lexion combines can also be outfitted with Claas telematics for remote diagnostics. The Cruise Pilot system automatically controls machine speed in three ways: constant speed, constant throughput and constant throughput with losses.
Added to the corn head lineup is an 18-row 20" model. Also, 12-row 22" and 18-row 20" chopping corn heads are available. The MaxFlo draper head, in 35' and 40' widths, uses an auger intake system instead of traditional center feed belts.
It can be converted into a swather platform as well.The Vario 1200 and 1050 headers—at widths of 40' and 35', respectively—use a fore-and-aft cutterbar adjustment to maintain consistent crop flow.
