Nurse Practitioners Gain a Taste for Beef

The Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners Conference (PCNP) saw beef at the center of discussion, which could lead it to the center of the plate. At the annual conference on Nov. 8-9, the Pennsylvania Beef Council partnered with the beef checkoff through the Northeast Beef Promotion Imitative to share the health benefits of beef with PCNP. Pamphlets, studies and recipes were presented for the health professionals to share with their clients. Nancy J. Pyle, a nurse practitioner who attended said, "Medical professionals need to hear more about the positives of beef, especially in regards to the effects of lean beef on cholesterol/LDL and the BOLD study."
