In early March, Farm Journal Media won the most prestigious award in our industry: the Grand Neal Award. Among those on hand at the awards luncheon were (from left) Eric Crowley, Katie Humphreys, Jeanne Bernick, Steve Custer, Charlene Finck, Kevin Spaffor
Competing with media companies from all over the country and all walks of life, Farm Journal Media recently won American Business Media’s coveted Grand Neal Award for our Farm Journal Legacy Project. Knowing we were a finalist, several of us from Farm Journal and Pioneer Hi-Bred traveled to New York City for the awards luncheon, but the win was a complete surprise!
The judges said they selected the Legacy Project from a pool of 660 entries because it empowers and transforms readers’ lives, integrating different forms of media to tell a story. High praise, and something we intend to live up to each year of our ongoing effort to help farmers and ranchers with succession planning.
It’s terrific to win awards, but nothing is more gratifying than the personal thank-yous we receive at every Leave a Legacy Workshop. We’re honored to help agriculture transition from one generation to the next.
Mark your calendars for one of our upcoming Legacy Project Workshops, which will help you take the critical first steps in succession planning:
- August 23 – Rockford, IL
- August 25 – Bowling Green, OH
- December 5 – Kansas City, MO
- December 7 – Bloomington, IL
- December 9 – Memphis, TN
