Farmers should ensure their wells are registered with their state, according to Indiana Farm Bureau staff attorney Justin Schneider. Government agencies can detect unregistered wells by surveying aerial photos. Registering the wells helps farmers access a fair share of water, and it prepares them for statewide water plans.

Contact your local Extension office for more information on how to register your well.
