A new variable rate irrigation product is available from Reinke.  

A new variable rate irrigation (VRI) product from Reinke Manufacturing Company, Inc. allows growers to map field conditions and control pivot operation for optimal water use. Reinke VRI is used in conjunction with the Reinke RPM Touch Screen and Navigator GPS to perform those actions.

"Our VRI Touch Screen control panel becomes the first fully integrated agronomic VRI solution capable of importing water application prescriptions," says Chris Roth, president of Reinke. "Helping growers achieve optimal performance is paramount to us, and we are proud to be able to develop and offer these technology advancements for our customers."

Through a partnership with data management company CropMetrics, Reinke offers producers the ability to adjust pivot speed and sprinkler activity with Sector VRI and Zone VRI, respectively. The product maps field conditions and soil variables, creating recommended water rates known as prescriptions. Farmers can also use the product to build and import personalized application schedules.

Growers who already use RPM Touch Screen panels with their center-pivot systems can begin using the VRI service by updating their software.
