If you see a glow on the horizon this holiday season, it might be Reynolds Farm Equipment in Fishers, Ind. The John Deere dealership takes Christmas lights to a whole new level, covering seven acres with winter scenes: a church with biblical characters, a gingerbread house and favorite Christmas characters, as well as ag equipment.
All of the figures, designs and color schemes are created in-house by company employees, says Mike Lawson of Reynolds Farm Equipment.
In 2009, the light display drew 2,500 to 3,000 visitors each night. This year marks the 18th anniversary of the free light show and the second year the dealership has partnered with a local food pantry. Motorists who visit the drive-through display can donate nonperishable food items or monetary gifts on specific evenings in December. For donation nights, visit www.reynoldsfarmequipment.com. This year the light display will be open every evening from Nov. 23 to Jan. 2, dusk to dawn.
