Sprayer Control Goes Universal
Working toward ISO compatibility, TeeJet offers two solutions for sprayer control. For equipment that already has an AGCO, Case IH or John Deere virtual terminal, a kit is available that includes the IC18 ISOBUS Sprayer Electronic Control Unit, the BoomPilot automatic boom section control module, a switch box and all cables and connections. The kit provides control for up to nine sprayer sections and features an interface designed for ease of use. For equipment without a virtual terminal, the kit can be expanded with a Matrix 570VT. Raven Industries and Buhler Industries Form Precision Ag Partnership
With a new alliance, Versatile tractors and self-propelled sprayers from Buhler Industries can be outfitted with Raven precision ag products from the factory. The Raven components can be ordered with the machines as a factory-installed or dealer-installed option. Referred to as Versatile Precision Ag System (VPAS), the partnership includes Raven SCS consoles, the Cruizer guidance system, Envizio Pro and Viper Pro field computers and SmarTrax assisted-steering products. With a from-the-factory 100% integrated cellular modem, the AutoFarm ParaDyme System is able to provide RTK accuracy without a base station or a subscription to a tower network. The RTK ReadyConnect service accesses state Department of Transportation CORS networks to receive RTK GPS accuracy. The AutoFarm system works with more than 50 wireless providers across North America, automatically and continuously picking the best available network as the equipment works in the field. The farmer can activate the RTK for only the duration of time the GPS service is needed; bundles are available for one-month, four-month or 10-month activation periods. Modular System Adds Tack-on Functions
To create a modular approach for crop input control, Trimble has assembled the Field-IQ system. The capabilities of Field-IQ include: map-based planter row shutoff for seed and fertilizer, variable-rate seeding, variable-rate liquid fertilizer, variable-rate spreading and real-time variable-rate nitrogen application. Display and control of the system can be provided by either the AgGPS FmX integrated display or the AgGPS EZ-Guide 500 lightbar system. The Field-IQ system allows farmers to purchase the components they need and be ready for the field with a more streamlined calibration process. The Tru Count Meter Mount air clutches can be used for seed row unit shutoff, and the Tru Count LiquiBlock valves use the same air source so farmers can simultaneously shut off seed and liquid across the planter. A Rawson variable-rate drive provides seed, granular material and liquid material control. The Field-IQ system can control up to 48 individual rows. The FmX and EZ-Guide 500 automatically record the coverage and mapping functions. Field-IQ also includes the GreenSeeker optical sensing system for on-the-go variable-rate nitrogen application.
