Technology Journal: Auto Turning Solution Works with Multiple Machinery Brands

April 30, 2011

Hemisphere GPS offers the ag industry’s first automatic turning solution that works on multiple
brands of farm machinery. Coupled with Outback eDriveX, the eTurns system enables farmers to
automatically execute a turn at the end of a row, increasing efficiency and reducing driver fatigue. Farmers value precise automated steering along each row, but until now had to manually
turn their machinery around at the end of each row and align with the next row. With the eTurns feature, they simply have to press a button for eDriveX to automatically make the turn and steer down the next row. For more information and to see eTurns in action, visit www.edrivex.com.

Advanced Implement Guidance

This spring, Orthman Manufacturing introduces its new GPS Shadow Tracker, which is based on the same principle as its Tracker IV system but offers more mounting versatility because the modules do not require a mechanical connection. The Shadow system has its own mast and processor mounted on the implement and connects to the tractor’s GPS. It uses a patented
steering blade system to adjust the implement and is compatible with Trimble, AutoFarm and John Deere guidance systems. For more details on this guidance system, visit www.orthmanag.com.

High-Horsepower Steering Option

AGCO and Topcon Precision Agriculture are working together to offer the Topcon AES-25 Accurate Electric Steering kits for Challenger and Massey Ferguson high-horsepower tractors, select Gleaner combines and AGCO application equipment, as well as other brands of equipment. The AES-25 system is currently available through the AGCO dealer network. Learn more about the steering system at www.agcotechnologies.com.
