Tracker Pinpoints Location of Equipment, Livestock 24/7

A small technology tool from Garmin, the Tracker, can help you know the exact location of anything you can attach it to, including your tractor or even your teenager.

“It’s a GPS device with a data phone built into it that transmits data to a cell provider,” explains Phil Rasmussen, Utah State University professor. “You can keep track of things 24/7 as long as you have cell phone service.”

The Tracker even allows you to set a geofence, so if what you are tracking moves outside the fence you will receive an alert.

The device retails for approximately $200, which includes a one-year service subscription.

In the following video, Rasmussen provides more details on the Tracker and how you can put it to work on your farm.
