Keith King took his on-farm upbringing, added some computer expertise, looked for a farmer need to fill and ended up developing a new mobile app called TractorPal.
"I looked back on how all of the farmers I know currently record their inventory and maintenance records," he says. "A lot of them still keep these records in a notebook. When I searched current apps that could modernize the process, I realized there wasn’t anything like what I wanted, so I and a friend of mine, Erik Schlimmer, created TractorPal."
The app lets users log large and small machinery in the system. TractorPal then tracks each item’s serial number, model year, purchase date, price and original miles/hours. Users can also set maintenance reminders for each vehicle.TractorPal is free to try for one vehicle or $4.99 to add an unlimited number of vehicles and allow users to email service records. The app is currently available on the Mac App Store and is coming in the near future to Google Play for Android phones.
