Jay Leno’s New Holland Will Go on Auction

Oct 20, 2011

New Holland is partnering with Jay Leno to place a Boomer tractor used in the Jay Leno Garage up for auction to benefit Fisher Houses. The Fisher Houses are 5,000 to 16,800 square-foot homes, donated to the military and department of Veterans Affairs, where families can stay while a loved one is receiving treatment. The Foundation also ensures that families of service men and women wounded in Iraq or Afghanistan are not burdened with unnecessary expense during a time of crisis.

The Boomer tractor, known as ‘Lil Tug, was retired when Leno took possession this past May of a New Holland Boomer 8N, a limited edition tractor inspired by the legendary 8N tractor from the late 1940s.
In January of 2012, the 'Lil Tug will sport patriotic colors as it goes up for auction at the prestigious and world renown Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Scroll through these decorated tractors that help put a spotlight on the cause. Click on the pictures to be taken to the original link.

Hagie's Custom Choppers

Oct 17, 2011

On a recent visit to Hagie Manufacturing, I found more than just sprayers that were made on the factory floor.

Hagie Manufacturing has three custom-built motorcycles that celebrate the company’s 60+ year history. These bikes were made at the Hagie campus in Clarion, Iowa, by employees. The original purpose was to have them at farm shows as an additional draw into the company’s booth.

The chopper in the middle was built for the company’s 60th anniversary in 2007. It was built with reproduction parts of 1947 models—the year the company built its first self-propelled sprayer.
