Forages Key for Livestock in 2013

Higher grain costs are creating opportunities for beef producers to invest in forages, says Derrell Peel, livestock marketing specialist at Oklahoma State University.

Regional differences will dictate pasture availability, with the Great Plains and Rocky Mountain regions likely to see increased livestock production as other areas focus on crops.

Peel recently spoke about those issues and analyzed what those changes mean in the following video from the 2013 Ag Connect Expo & Summit in Kansas City:
