In episode 7 of Corn College TV Season 2, Ken Ferrie explains how tillage can help manage disease pressures.
He uses a demonstration plot as an example, where the same hybrid was planted across the field, but different tillage was done in sections.
“Looking at the lower three leaves, we can see a difference in the disease pressure on the leaves,” he says. “Diseases come from residue, so crop rotation does matter, but tillage maters too.”
