Today at the National Farm Machinery Show, Kubota Tractor Company announced a new flagship tractor to be added to the M-Series. The new machine called the Grand X, will hit the market in the spring.
Paul Williams, Senior Product Manager for Kubota, says that the machine comes in four models. Ranging from 85-118 PTO horse power, the Grand X mid-size deluxe tractors are intended to replace the current X series.
The Grand X boasts a 10 inch wider cab with more than 7 inches overhead room. The machine features an eight speed power shift transmission for 24 gears in forward and reverse. This mid-sized machine features a diesel particulate filter, a Tier 4 technology.
Williams says the most popular application to be used with this new tractor is a loader application. He predicts that it will be used as product mover on the farm. Because of the three point hitch and greater pulling capacity than the X series this machine has the potential to be used in the field according to Williams.
He says that the machines will be assembled in the plant in California as well as the new plant in Georgia and will be in dealers’ hands come spring.
