Pest Watch: Cotton's Newest Threat

Move over, boll weevil—there's a new bug in the cotton field
 

This year, the tarnished plant bug is replacing the boll weevil as cotton's biggest pest threat. According to University of Arkansas Extension Entomologist Gus Lorenz, the bug can cause major damage—up to 60% yield loss in cotton fields.
