In mid-April, a bipartisan group of U.S. senators unveiled their long-awaited immigration reform proposal that includes a framework for a farm worker program.
Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and many ag groups are supportive of the proposal. "Everyone knows we have a broken immigration system that is now compromising agriculture’s ability to grow and raise what we need to feed our own people and continue our record exports," Vilsack said in a recent interview with "AgriTalk" host Mike Adams.
