The United States Department of Agriculture reported this afternoon that the May 2012 U.S. all-milk price is $16.40, down 40¢/cwt from April and down $3.20 from a year ago.
California’s all-milk price came in at $14.60; Wisconsin, $17.30, Idaho, $16.30, New York, $17.30 and Pennsylvania, $17.80. Florida reported the highest price in May at $20.60/cwt.
The May alfalfa preliminary price was reported at $215/ton, up $8 from April and $28 from a year ago.
