Bob Utterback

Bob Utterback is the Economist for Farm Journal magazine and President of Utterback Marketing Services, Inc. located in New Richmond, Indiana. He has over 27 years of experience analyzing ag commodity markets, with special emphasis on the corn and soybean markets. 

After completing his B.S. degree at Purdue University [1974] and his M.S. degree at Oregon State University [1977], he was a 5-County Area Specialist/Extension Agent with Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service in southeast Indiana, the Hog Analyst at AgriVisor, Inc., and the Chief Analyst at Top Farmer and Farm Futures. In 1990 he put his analytical skills to the test as a full-time commodities broker; and set up his own brokerage office in 1991. He and his staff work with farmers, feed buyers and speculators throughout the United States. Since 1993 he has been the Economist for Farm Journal magazine and a frequent guest speaker and/or panelist on U.S. Farm Report/AgDay television shows. 

He is often asked to speak at conferences sponsored by the leaders in the seed and fertilizer industry, as well as banks and other ag-related businesses, and he has consulted with farmers and investor groups.
