Butterfly Mower Aided with Weight Adjustment System

November 17, 2011
By: Margy Eckelkamp, Director of Content Development, Machinery Pete

The popularity of triple-mounted mowers and other implements has grown in Europe. As those implements are built with more features this leads to more weight for each of the mounted mowers and with higher speeds at harvest, it could compromise the quality of the forage.

To help relieve the pressure off the cutterbar Krone has developed a hydraulic-pneumatic and tractor-integrated called Constant-Float. Using air bags in the mower units and a the tractor hydraulic system, the weight is automatically distributed evenly.
This innovation was awarded a Silver Medal at Agritechnica 2011.
