Commodity Classic and Ag Connect Combine Efforts

October 22, 2013
By: Margy Eckelkamp, Director of Content Development, Machinery Pete

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers, the National Corn Growers Association and the American Soybean Association announce a new collaborative venture that combines Commodity Classic and Ag Connect Expo.

The first event will be held March 3-5, 2016, in New Orleans.

Commodity Classic is a joint venture owned by the National Corn Growers Association and the American Soybean Association, with National Association of Wheat Growers and National Sorghum Producers participating as affiliates. The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) owns and produces Ag Connect Expo & Summit, which launched in 2010.

Ag Connect will cancel its 2015 show.

The 2014 and 2015 Commodity Classic events will take place as planned:
February 27-March 1, 2014  in San Antonio, Texas
February 26-28, 2015 in Phoenix, Arizona

The new joint show will take place every year. Leaders of the organization say that Commodity Classic will continue to be a farmer-focused, farmer-led event. And organizers say they are aiming to provide a quality event for leading producers.

The event organizers signed the agreement to join together just last week. Before the launch of the new event, they will meet and seek feedback on how to adjust the expo, education, and other features of the event, including a potential name change.
