Senate Closer than Ever to a Passed Farm Bill

After a long week of debate and discussion, the Senate voted to proceed with the 2012 farm bill Monday night and will wrap up the bill today after several votes.

Farm Bill Amendments Debate Begins

Over the next several weeks the 2012 farm bill will be the topic of discussion in the U.S. Senate. As of last week, 180 amendments to the Agriculture Committee’s bill had been filed for debate.

U.S. Senate Votes to Proceed with the 2012 Farm Bill 

The full Senate voted in support of continuing 2012 farm bill consideration today. The vote passed 90-8 in favor of proceeding.

House Ag Committee to begin their mark-up process for the 2012 Farm Bill. Also, the full Senate vote of the bill is scheduled to happen tomorrow.
