In 2008, Farm Journal launched Corn College in response to farmers asking for more access to our agronomic experts. Since then, sold-out crowds totaling more than 2,000 farmers have headed to the field to take their corn yields to the next level.
This year, we’re answering that call again and have organized a second series of events at a second campus.
For the First-time Attendee. The Corn College “Fundamentals” event will take place Aug. 3 and 4 in Coldwater, Mich, at the facilities of Farm Journal Associate Field Agronomist Missy Bauer. This two-day event is specifically geared for the first-time Corn College attendee. With in-field breakouts including soil density pits and crop diagnostics, the Fundamentals course features the highlights of the Corn College curriculum by providing the building blocks of the systems approach.
Aug. 3 to 4
For the ag consultant/retailer looking for CCA credits. For the second year in a row, Farm Journal is offering a Corn College session just for those who help farmers grow higher yields. This is the only Corn College session that offers CCA credits (12 credits are estimated to be offered). This one-day even on July 19 near Bloomington, Ill., will allow ag professional to tap the agronomic experience of Farm Journal Field Agronomist Ken Ferrie and Associate Field Agronomist Missy Bauer.
Monday, July 18; Retailer/Consultant Session (ONLY Corn College session offering CCA credits)
For the Corn College alumni. There will be two two-day events near Bloomington Ill., either July 20 and 21 or July 22 or 23. The curriculum caters to those farmers who have attended a Corn College event in the past by building on the principals and concepts of the Systems Approach.
Tuesday and Wednesday, July 19 to 20; two-day session for farmers
Thursday and Friday, July 21 to 22; two-day session for farmers
Registration is open for all events, and in the past all Corn College events sell out. No on-site registration is available. Visit www.FarmJournalCornCollege.com
