According to the Merriam-Webster Online dictionary, a blog is "a Web site that contains an online personal journal with reflections, comments, and often hyperlinks provided by the writer."

Online at www.BeefToday.com and www.FarmJournal.com, you will find numerous blogs from regular magazine columnists as well as others involved in agriculture. Some blogs provide useful production and market information and resources you can use on your farm or ranch. Other blogs give interesting insight into agricultural issues and topics of the day.

Do you enjoy reading Steve Cornett's musings on the cattle industry? Do you have questions on animal health for Dan Goehl's veterinarian guidance? Are you interested in Kevin Spafford's advice on succession planning? Find each of these columnists' blogs at www.BeefToday.com.

New faces. We've added two new blogs to provide readers with more opinions and information.

The newest blog on the block is "The Independent Cattleman," written by Max Thornsberry, DVM. Thornsberry is currently president of R-CALF USA's board of directors and Region VI director. He owns and manages TNT Cattle Company, a certified feeder-calf preconditioning enterprise, as well as Avanco Feeds, a veterinary and nutrition firm in Missouri.

This month, we will roll out a cattle nutrition blog written by nutrition experts from different regions of the country. They will be able to address a variety of cattle nutrition concerns and answer your questions.

Blogs are more than a one-way interaction—you can comment on the post and read comments from others. It's another way for you to participate in discussions on issues that impact your business, learn new ideas and even seek out advice from the blogger or other readers.

Free delivery. You can also have blogs delivered to your e-mail inbox. Beef Today's eNewsletter "Cattle Drive" is delivered bimonthly. You can register for it for free on our Web site.

As we expand our blog offerings, let us know what you think. What topics would you like to see more of? Check out these blogs and feel free to join in the conversation.
