Plant Evenly With Air-Drill Springs

The redesigned Precision Disk single-disk air drills from Case IH feature a parallel-link row unit with patent-pending variable down-pressure springs for even emergence and improved plant stand establishment. Single-bevel 18" disks are set at a 7° angle, enabling movement through residue. Double-edged closing wheels with three pressure settings are controlled manually or via in-cab display. The drills offer narrow transport widths and integration with the Advanced Farming Systems precision farming solution. Models include the Precision Disk 500T, Case IH’s first air drill with an on-board bulk seed tank, in 25', 30' and 40' working widths. List price ranges from $106,393 for a 25' working width and 10" row spacing to $174,066 for 40' working width and 7.5" row spacing. The Precision Disk 500 ranges from $87,500 for a 30' working width and 10" row spacing to $126,996 for a 40' working width and 7.5" row spacing. Base price does not include air cart required for operation, the Pro700 monitor, freight or set-up. For more, visit a Case IH dealer or www.caseih.com.

Corn Head Boosts Kernel Capture

p32 Machinery Journal Corn Head Boosts Kernel Capture

The Drago Series II Corn Head from Dragotec USA features Kernel Capture Technology, which provides superior kernel flow and maximum grain savings. The precision-fit Kernel Barrier is placed at the base of the redesigned snug bonnet and snout. Automatic deck plates consistently adjust to fit the size of incoming plants while centering the stalk for optimum ear removal. Longer, lower-velocity knife rolls provide optimum grain handling. The knife-to-knife design pinches stalks, pulling them down to the auger at the slowest speeds in the industry, cutting back on ear bounce and butt shelling. Contact your local dealer for pricing information, or visit www.dragotec.com.

Exapta Solutions, Inc.’s improved Valion seed tube guards prevent opener blade flex and deliver more consistent seed depth by creating properly shaped furrows. The internal channel can hold ¼" plastic tubing for in-furrow liquid fertilizer. List price: John Deere planters with XP cast row units, $26.50; John Deere pre-XP row units (7000 through 1700 series) and Kinze 2000s, $31.50. Valions will be available for Kinze 3000s in March 2013 but will not have liquid capability. For more, visit  www.exapta.com.

More Hay Per Bale

p32 Machinery Journal More Hay Per Bale

To maximize the tonnage in every bale, New Holland updates its BigBaler models to provide up to 20% increase in capacity and 5% denser bales. The two models, BigBaler 330 and BigBaler 340, make 3'x3' and 3'x4' bales, respectively. The MaxiSweep pickup has been redesigned with a full-width feed assist roller and paired overshot-undershot augers. A standard roller windguard pre-compresses the crop mat before the pickup tines to smooth crop flow. In addition to the standard crop processing system, there are two CropCutter systems: the PackerCutter and RotorCutter. For more, visit www.NewHolland.com.
