New Holland Reintroduces Genesis Name

It’s the 20 year anniversary since the Genesis name was introduced by New Holland, and for model year 2014, the company is bringing back that name with the Genesis T8 Series tractor.

"In 1993, we leapfrogged the industry with the Genesis tractor," says Gary Wojcik, marketing manager high horsepower tractors. "The same features that put us on the map with the Genesis then have been improved and are available on this new Genesis series."

The Genesis T8 tractor has a longer wheelbase–16" or 18", depending on the model, longer than a competitive tractor. Due to the design of placing the engine cooling package in front of the wheels and a special sculpted hood, the tractor also boasts improved steering and turning ability. The tractors are available with the TerraGlide front axle suspension. In the cab, the SideWinder II console has evolved from the original SideWinder found on the first Genesis tractors.

The industry’s first electronically controlled Powershift transmission was found on the Genesis, and today’s tractors can be geared with a Powershift or AutoCommand CVT.

The lineup of five models is being expanded to six with the addition of the Genesis T8 420. When outfitted with a CVT, the Genesis T8 410 is the most powerful row crop tractor with a CVT available with a maximum engine horsepower of 419 hp. All tractors in the series are powered by FPT engines with SCR for Tier 4 interim compliance.

Two decades ago, the Genesis tractor set new standards with up to 15,000 lb. three-point hitch capacity and the new, optional MegaFlow hydraulic system. Today, the Genesis T8 tractor have nearly 20,000 lb. three-point hitch capacity, and MegaFlow is available for separate remote controls for a low flow at high pressure, and a high flow at low pressure.

New Holland has created a website for more information on the Genesis legacy as well as the new Genesis T8 Tractor: genesis.newholland.com/
