Pete's Pick of the Week: Four Robotic Milkers Fetch $299,000

Four Lely A3 Astronaut III robotic milker units sold on an online farm auction Monday (Nov. 11, 2013) in Pierz, Minn., on a sale by Hansen & Young, Inc. The total? More than $299,000. 

The two left-handed units sold for $72,050 each, and the pair of right-handed units went for $77,000 and $78,100. Each unit sold with 60 neck transponders and was purchased new on Aug. 30, 2009 and has been updated.

The units had done between 227,000 and 250,000 milkings each as of mid-September 2013.
