There’s a lot to learn about how the farm equipment business has changed. Auction Action columnist Greg Peterson sat down with Joe Colgan and his son Tim to talk about these changes. Joe got his start in the business in 1933 as a parts man and bookkeeper when the parts department was a mere 12' of shelves against the wall. He became a John Deere dealer in 1947 when he and a partner bought the business for $20,000. Now, both Joe and Tim are retired from the farm equipment industry.
